This is not seven straight days of reservations. Two big centerpiece days anchor the trip. The rest leaves enough breathing room to fish off the dock, wander, take ridiculous pictures, swim, eat ice cream and stay by the fire too late.

Afternoon Drive in → groceries, bait, ice → check in at Rock Lodge Road.
Late afternoon Explore the water, cast from shore/dock, unpack slowly.
Dinner Giant vacation pizza at Brenda’s or take it back to the house.
Night First campfire. No big reservation. Everyone gets their camera.
Optional bonus 🏎️ Go-Kart Challenge at Deep Creek Fun Zone if everyone still has energy — go-karts, mini-golf, arcade, laser tag and more at 72 Fort Drive in McHenry.
DAY 2
THE LAKE DAY
Tuesday • Aug 18
Early Breakfast + bait → Bill’s Marine North.
Morning 🎣 Fishing first while the lake is quieter.
Midday Boat, swim, cruise and explore Deep Creek.
Afternoon Back to the house. Absolutely nothing scheduled.
Dinner Mountain State Brewing Co. — pizzas/flatbreads and outdoor mountain-lake vacation feel.
DAY 3
WISP MEGA-DAY
Wednesday • Aug 19
10-ish Wisp Mountain Park.
Morning 🌲 Flying Squirrel canopy / ropes adventure.
Lunch Easy lunch at the mountain.
Afternoon 🥏 Frisbee golf — family 9-hole or mountain 18-hole course + scenic chairlift.
5:00 Stage Wisp artisan market.
6:00–8:30 Free Stage Wisp concert — Butterscotch Blonde.
DAY 4
WATERFALL DAY
Thursday • Aug 20
Morning Let the possible shower pass. Slow breakfast.
Late morning 💦 Swallow Falls State Park — Canyon Trail, old-growth forest, Muddy Creek Falls.
Optional surprise Circle R Ranch horseback ride or the Barn Quilt photo trail if weather is mixed.
Dinner Choose the nicer lake dinner: Dutch’s at Silver Tree for seafood/lake views, or make it Big Steak Night at Pine Lodge Steakhouse in McHenry.
Night Dock fishing / cards / campfire.
DAY 5
CABIN SWITCH + LOCAL DAY
Friday • Aug 21
Morning One last Rock Lodge breakfast + fishing.
Midday Move to 1692 Deep Creek Drive.
Afternoon 🏖️ Deep Creek Lake State Park — beach/swim/Discovery Center if desired.
3:00–6:00 Deep Creek Farmers Market at Garrett College.
Dinner Ace’s Run or Firewater for a lake-view meal.
Dessert 🍦 Lakeside Creamery. This one is mandatory in spirit.
DAY 6
COUNTRY FEST + WILDCARD
Saturday • Aug 22
8:00–4:00 Country Fest & Auction at Garrett County Fairgrounds — local food, music, vendors, children’s activities and auction atmosphere.
Do not overbook. This is currently the highest storm-risk day.
If dry Circle R Ranch horseback ride or another lake session.
If wet Wisp’s Pirates of Deep Creek escape game or Deep Creek Fun Zone for arcade/laser tag. If storms clear, the go-karts become the bonus round.
Dinner Pick the best meal you haven’t hit yet — Firewater, Mountain State or cabin grill night.
DAY 7
THE LAST CAST
Sunday • Aug 23
Breakfast Canoe on the Run.
Morning 🎣 One last fishing session. No rush.
Before leaving Everyone picks a “last look at the lake” spot and takes one final frame.
Ride home Start choosing the Photo Awards winners.

One rule
Nobody deletes pictures during the trip. Bad frames, blurry frames and accidental shots stay. They are usually the ones that become stories.

Who is actually fastest?
Deep Creek Fun Zone is the easy “one more thing” activity because it’s right in McHenry. Keep it loose: use it Monday night if everyone arrives with energy, or save it as Saturday’s weather-flex bonus. The same stop also gives you mini-golf, arcade games and laser tag if the weather turns.

Circle R Ranch is only minutes from Deep Creek and its summer daily season runs through Aug. 23 — literally your departure day. This is my favorite extra if everyone is game.
